Ingredients for 1 servings:
- 375 g wheat flour (type 550)
- 1 packet of dry yeast
- 1 tsp, leveled salt
- 250 ml water, lukewarm
- 1 tsp liquid honey
- 4 tbsp oil
- 2 tbsp water
- 30 g sesame seeds, peeled
Instructions
Working time approx. 20 minutes; Rest time approx. 45 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 25 minutes
for 4 large or 8 small rings
Mix together the flour, yeast, and salt. Add the water, honey, and oil. Knead into a smooth dough in about 5 minutes. Dust the dough with flour, cover, and let rest in a warm place for about 30 minutes. It should visibly increase in size. Briefly knead the dough on a work surface and divide it into quarters or eighths. Form each quarter into a ball. Press a hole in each ball with the heel of your hand. Pull each dough ring apart from the center with your hands. Rotate the dough to form even rings. Be generous here, as the dough will expand again. Place the rings on a baking sheet, cover, and let rest until they have increased in size significantly (about 15 minutes). Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius. Brush the rings with water and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Bake one after the other for about 20 minutes. Let cool on a wire rack.
