Shortcrust pastry cookies

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 300 g flour
  • 200 g butter, cold
  • 100 g powdered sugar
  • 1 egg(s), small or medium-sized
  • flavoring (e.g. allspice, rum, vanilla pulp)
  • Chocolate, nuts or food coloring

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Ideal for baking with children

Place the flour on a work surface and make a well in the center. Add the powdered sugar, egg, and flavoring (I like to use ground allspice, for example) to the well. Sprinkle the cold butter in small pieces over the flour, then quickly knead everything into a smooth dough. Wrap the dough in cling film and refrigerate for about 30 minutes. Preheat the oven to 180°C. Roll out the dough thinly and cut out any shapes you like. Bake the cookies on baking sheets lined with baking paper for about 10 minutes each. Makes about 3 baking sheets. Once cooled, decorate with chocolate, chopped nuts, or food coloring as desired.
