Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 2 tbsp cream
  • 1 tbsp sherry (medium dry)
  • 4 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • e.g. iceberg lettuce
  • 350 g crab
  • 1 lemon(s)
  • a few sprigs of dill
  • some Tabasco
  • salt and pepper

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 10 minutes

classic and fine recipe

For the cocktail sauce, combine the following ingredients: mayonnaise, tomato paste, cream, a few dashes of Tabasco, sherry, a lemon slice and the juice of half (you can also use concentrate), salt, and pepper to taste. Cut the lettuce into thin strips (or thinner to your liking) and place on a plate. Arrange the crab on top and pour the sauce over it. Garnish with dill sprigs and the remaining lemon (it’s best to slice it nicely). By the way: fresh crab or those in brine usually don’t need any additional seasoning. Frozen crabs may need a little more seasoning.
