Shrimp in garlic and tomato oil

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 300 g shrimp(s), large
  • 3 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 1 lemon(s)
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 3 tbsp whiskey or brandy
  • 100 ml water
  • Parsley, for garnishing

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 3 minutes; Total time approx. 13 minutes

rustic starter or quick snack

Heat the oil and fry the shrimp for about 1 minute. Add the garlic. Season with salt and pepper. Squeeze half the lemon and slice the other half into wedges to serve with the dish. Set aside. Add the whiskey, lemon juice, and tomato paste. Top up with 100 ml of water and simmer briefly. Garnish with parsley and lemon wedges, if desired. Serve with baguette.
