Side Dishes: Mashed Potatoes with Fried Onions and Chives

Ingredients
 

  • 800 g Floury potatoes
  • 1 large Onion
  • 300 ml Milk warm
  • 3 tbsp Frozen chives
  • 3 tbsp Danish fried onions
  • Salt, colored pepper from the mill
  • Freshly grated nutmeg
  • 50 g Butter

Instructions
 

  • Peel the potatoes, cut them a little smaller and cook them in salted water until soft. In the meantime, peel the onion and dice it finely. Heat 1 teaspoon butter and sweat the onion cubes until translucent, then set aside.
  • Drain and steam the cooked potatoes. Roughly chop, add onions, fried onions and chives. Gradually pour in the warm milk and mash everything into a smooth puree. Finally fold in the remaining butter. Season with salt, pepper and nutmeg.
