Simple butter cookies

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 kg flour
  • 500 g butter
  • 500 g powdered sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 vanilla pod(s), including the pulp
  • ½ lemon(s), zest, grated
  • 1 egg(s) for brushing

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 15 minutes

for approx. 60 pieces

Quickly work the butter and sugar together on a board. Add the eggs, then mix in the flour and spices (or use a food processor). Let the dough rest in the refrigerator for about half an hour. Roll out the dough. Cut out cookies as desired, brush with egg, and let dry slightly. Place on a prepared baking sheet. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (top/bottom heat) for about 15 minutes, until golden brown. The time will vary depending on the thickness of the dough.
