Ingredients for 1 servings:
- 2 sheets of strudel dough
- 2 apples
- 20 g butter
- 40 g breadcrumbs
- ½ tsp Cinnamon powder (Ceylon cinnamon powder)
- 1 egg(s)
- some rapeseed oil
Instructions
Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes
Melt the butter in a small pan and toast the breadcrumbs until golden brown. Allow the breadcrumbs to cool slightly on a plate. In the meantime, grate the apples. Place one sheet of strudel dough on a dry cloth and brush with a little oil. Place the second sheet on top and cut into eight equal-sized rectangles. Beat the egg in a cup and brush all sides of the rectangles with it. Spread the breadcrumbs over the strudel dough and sprinkle with cinnamon. Distribute the grated apples among the rectangles, always placing the apple on one side, leaving at least a 1 cm border to the cut edge. Fold the strudel dough around the apple mixture once. Fold in the sides and roll up the rest. Place the small strudels open-side down on a baking sheet lined with baking paper and brush with egg. Bake the strudels for 15 minutes at 180 degrees Celsius until golden brown. Tip: The strudels can be refined with lemon zest, vanilla, or a little ginger powder, for example. A large strudel can also be formed from the ingredients listed.
