Ingredients for 3 servings:

  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp garlic paste
  • 1 can of tomatoes in tomato juice, 400 g
  • e.g. sea salt
  • n. B. sugar
  • 1 chili pepper(s), uncrushed

Instructions

Working time approx. 5 minutes; Total time approx. 5 minutes

Pizzaiola – basis for the pizza topping

Heat olive oil, gently fry the garlic paste for about 20 seconds. Add the canned tomatoes and crush them (e.g., with a potato masher). Season with salt, sugar, and the uncrushed chili pepper. Simmer uncovered for about 30-45 minutes until the sauce thickens. It’s also ideal for storing basic sauce or a sauce for pasta.
