Ingredients

  • 1,5 lb Peeled waxy potatoes
  • 1 lb Fresh mushrooms
  • 1 lb Chopped meat of your choice
  • 100 g Yogurt
  • 2 tsp Pepper White
  • 2 tsp Salt
  • 2 El Olive oil
  • 2 tbsp Curry
  • 1 tbsp Sweet paprika
  • 1 tbsp Dried thyme
  • 2 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1 Pc. Fresh red pepper
  • 1 Pc. Flower pot and saucer made of unglazed clay

Instructions

  • First of all we wash the flower pot and the saucer vigorously with hot water. then we let the "place setting" soak in a water bath. From the yogurt, 1 teaspoon salt, pepper, garlic powder + 2 tablespoons curry + 1 tablespoon paprika powder, we stir together a marinade and put the meat in it. The longer the better! Peel the potatoes and clean the mushrooms with kitchen paper. Put both in a marinade of olive oil, 1 teaspoon pepper, salt, garlic powder + 1 tablespoon thyme. We rub the coaster with a little oil. First, layer the potatoes and then the mushrooms on top. Then distribute the marinated meat evenly on top. Finally cut the red bell pepper into strips and place on top on the sides. Then put the pot on. The pot and saucer should lie edge on edge! Heat the oven to 220 degrees. After the temperature has been reached, put the pot in the oven and turn the temperature down to 180 degrees. Attention, the pot should be placed on a grid and underneath a tray to catch any overflowing broth. (In my attempt, a little bit of brewer ran over the edge) Now leave it in the oven for 2 hours. After 15 minutes it starts to smell wonderfully of herbs and spices. From now on there are still 1 hour and 45 minutes left to look forward to it 🙂 After the time, lift off the pot and serve the whole thing on a wooden board because of the heat. A green salad is very chic as a side dish! Herbs and spices develop an unexpected aroma in this "temporary solution" and develop a great intensity! I had packed the pot a bit too full (see pictures), with less filling we'd probably be a little browner and crispier on top. The flower pot now stays in the kitchen and the daffodils get something new! The whole matter can also, again to be expected, be cleaned up quickly and easily with hot water. If the pot becomes unsightly, you can always put a few flowers in it and just get a new one. The fun costs about 6-10 €. Next summer I'll test the whole thing on a charcoal fire. I did the whole thing in a mini oven, so the pot could hold 2 liters. With a larger oven and a correspondingly larger flower pot, you can easily and deliciously feed some people. So it was completely sufficient for 3 people.
