Raspberry-Elderberry-Liqueur

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 200 g elderberries
  • 300 g raspberries, frozen or fresh
  • 700 ml vodka or grain alcohol
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • 100 g sugar
  • 80 g rock sugar, brown

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Wash the elderberries and place them in a saucepan. Steep in 200-300 ml of water just before boiling for about 60 minutes. Drain and let cool. Place the raspberries in a large jar or bottle. Add the cooled elderberries. Add the vanilla sugar, rock candy, and sugar, and fill with 700 ml of vodka or schnapps (1 bottle). Close the bottle tightly and let it stand for about 6 to 8 weeks. Gently turn it occasionally—do not shake! The liqueur is then ready to drink.
