Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 500 g smoked pork
  • 500 g spaetzle
  • 500 g sauerkraut
  • 1 apple
  • 1 onion(s)
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • salt and pepper
  • possibly sugar
  • optional spice(s) of your choice

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

You will need a large frying pan with high sides or a wok. Cut the smoked pork into small cubes and fry. Also cut the onion and apple into small cubes and add them to the pan. Meanwhile, prepare the spaetzle according to the package instructions. Add the sauerkraut to the other ingredients in the pan and stir well. Then add the cup of sour cream and bring to a boil. Depending on the preparation instructions for the sauerkraut, you can continue to simmer or turn off the heat and let it simmer for a while. Drain the cooked spaetzle well and add them to the pan. Mix everything together. Add salt, pepper and maybe a little sugar. Add other seasonings if desired.
