Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 24 small potatoes, early potatoes about 3 cm in diameter
- 125 g butter
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 pinch(s) pepper, white
- 3 tbsp fresh dill, chopped

new potatoes steamed in butter
Wash and brush the potatoes. Melt the butter in a heavy, lidded roasting pan, add the potatoes, and season with salt and pepper. Toss thoroughly and cover, making sure the lid fits tightly. Cook over low heat for 30 to 45 minutes, shaking the roasting pan occasionally to prevent sticking. Check the potatoes for tenderness with the tip of a knife. When tender, transfer them to a bowl, sprinkle with dill, and serve immediately.
