Christmas cookies

Soak the raisins in whiskey and let them steep, covered, for 24 hours. Then drain the raisins well. Cream the butter, sugar, and eggs in a bowl until fluffy. Sift the flour and baking powder over the flour, add the cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg, and knead everything into a smooth dough. Knead the raisins, nuts, and candied or dried fruit into the dough. Line a baking sheet with baking paper and, using two teaspoons, place small heaps of dough onto the baking paper. Bake on the middle rack of the oven at 180°C for about 20 minutes. They’re deliciously nutty and taste sooooo good like Christmas!
