Soaked Lemon Cake
The perfect soaked lemon cake recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 250 g Butter
- 250 gr Sugar
- 5 piece Free range eggs
- 2 piece Lemon peel
- 250 g Flour
- 1 pinch Salt
- 2,5 tsp Baking powder with saffron
- 0,5 piece Freshly squeezed lemon juice
Cast 1
- 100 g Powdered sugar
- 2 dl Freshly squeezed lemon juice
Variant 2 cast
- 60 g Powdered sugar
- 2 dl Limoncello with alcohol
- Beat the butter and sugar until frothy
- Add the eggs and 2 lemon zest and the juice of half a lemon
- Mix the flour, baking powder with saffron and a pinch of salt into the mixture and place in a 30cm cake tin
- Pre heat the oven to 180 degrees celcius
- Bake at 180 degrees for about 60-65 minutes. Let it cool a little in the tin and pierce the cake several times with a knitting needle and soak with Varainte 1 or 2 as long as the cake is still warm.
