Soda Bread
The perfect soda bread recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 350 g Spelled flour
- 150 g Whole wheat flour
- 75 g Oatmeal
- 1 tsp Baking soda
- 1 tsp Baking powder
- 1 tsp Salt
- 25 g Butter half-fat – milk half-fat, soft
- 400 ml Buttermilk
Preheat the oven to 200 degrees!
- Mix the flour with the oatmeal, baking soda, baking powder and salt in a bowl.
- Knead the butter and buttermilk with the flour mixture using a mixer until a nice dough is formed! Is a little stickier without yeast!
- Then shape a loaf with floury hands and place on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Cut a cross into the bread with a sharp knife.
- Sprinkle with a little more flour or seeds and bake for about 40 minutes.
- Bread is ready when it sounds hollow when you knock on it!
