Sour cherry – coffee – jam

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 kg sour cherries (sour cherries), pitted, weighed
  • 2 tbsp instant coffee powder
  • 1 ½ tbsp chocolate, dark, crumbled or grated
  • 500 g gelling sugar (2:1)
  • 1 sachet of citric acid if needed

Instructions

Working time approx. 35 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes

Sour cherry coffee jam

Wash, pit, and halve the sour cherries. Mix with the gelling sugar and bring to a boil. Add the instant coffee and the crumbled or grated chocolate. Bring to a boil and simmer for at least 4 minutes. Test for settling; if it doesn’t set, stir in 1 sachet of citric acid. Immediately pour into prepared jars, seal, and let stand with the lid on for 5 minutes.
