Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 750 g potatoes
  • 500 g minced meat (mixed)
  • 1 onion(s), diced
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 3 slice(s) bacon, fat
  • Salt
  • pepper

Peel and wash the potatoes, and slice them thinly. Drain them well. Season the minced meat as usual for meatballs. Dice the bacon and fry it in a frying pan. Brown the diced onions in it, then layer the potato slices alternately with the minced meat. Season with salt and pepper. Cover the pan and simmer over a very low heat. Stir gently as needed; the meat may burn. After about 20 minutes, add the bay leaves, which have been broken in half. The simmering time is about 60 minutes. Tomato salad goes very well with this dish.
