Spelt rolls

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 300 g spelt flour (type 630)
  • ½ cube of yeast, fresh
  • 150 ml water, lukewarm
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp sunflower seeds
  • Flour for dusting

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 30 minutes

Place the flour in a bowl. Dissolve the yeast and sugar in the water. Add to the flour and mix lightly with a fork. Let stand briefly. Add the salt, oil, and seeds and knead with a dough mixer until smooth. Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place for 45 minutes. Then shape it into a log. To make the rolls, cut the log into 4 slices. Place the rolls cut-side up on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Carefully press the sides into shape. Cover and let rise for 20 minutes. Preheat the oven to 200°C (top/bottom heat). Lightly dust the rolls with flour. Bake for 15-20 minutes.
