Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 500 g almond(s), peeled
  • 1 egg white
  • 4 tsp brown sugar
  • 4 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 2 tbsp rosemary, very finely chopped or
  • 2 tbsp paprika powder, sweet or
  • 2 tbsp curry powder

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Preheat the oven to 150°C. Spread the almonds on a baking sheet and roast for about 20 minutes until golden brown, shaking the baking sheet occasionally to ensure even browning on both sides. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly. Beat the egg whites until frothy, add the sugar, salt, chili powder, spice of your choice, and the almonds. Stir until the almonds are evenly coated. Return the almonds to the baking sheet and roast for about 30 minutes, until golden brown and fragrant. Meanwhile, loosen the almonds from the baking paper twice with a fork or spatula and separate them. Serve once cooled.
