Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 600 g minced beef
- 1 onion(s)
- ½ vegetable onion(s)
- 2 cloves garlic
- 300 g tomatoes, peeled (can), with the juice
- 500 g kidney beans
- 1 bell pepper(s), red
- 1 bell pepper(s), yellow
- 2 red chili peppers
- 250 g peas
- 250 g corn
- 3 pieces of dark chocolate, min. 70% cocoa content
- e.g. salt and pepper
- n. B. Paprika powder, sweet
- e.g. Paprika powder, hot
- n. B. olive oil, strong
- n. B. cumin powder
- n. B. Coriander powder
- e.g. oregano
- n. B. Vegetable stock powder
- e.g. lemon juice
Instructions
Working time approx. 25 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 45 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 10 minutes
Chop the onions and sauté in plenty of strong olive oil. Then add the minced meat and brown it thoroughly. Peel and press the garlic cloves, add them, and then deglaze with the peeled tomatoes and their juices. Chop the tomatoes in the pot or pan. Season to taste and add the chopped chili peppers, seeds and all. Simmer for about 20 minutes over medium-high heat. Trim and dice the bell peppers, and add them. Chop the chocolate and add them, stirring well. After about 10 minutes, add the remaining vegetables (kidney beans, corn, peas). Simmer for about another 10 minutes, seasoning the dish again with the specified spices. Serve hot. Serve with bread and sour cream (or similar). Tip: The bread and sour cream can help to tone down the spiciness. For those who like spicy food, omit the sour cream.
