Spicy carrots

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g carrot(s)
  • 50 g butter
  • 2 carnations
  • ½ pepper(s)
  • Salt
  • Sugar
  • 1 garlic clove(s), finely chopped
  • 1 bunch parsley, flat, coarsely chopped

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

as a side dish or starter

Wash and peel the carrots, and slice them very thinly. Melt the butter in a saucepan until foamy, adding the cloves. Deseed the chili pepper, slice it into thin rings, and add it to the butter with the carrots. Season with salt and a pinch of sugar. Sauté in a covered pan for about 10 minutes. Add 1-2 tablespoons of water, if desired. Stir in the garlic and parsley. Let it simmer briefly. Goes well with bobbotie, along with chutney and green beans, or with lightly roasted meat.
