Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 kg apples
  • 750 g sugar
  • 100 g almonds
  • 250 g raisins
  • 1 tbsp mustard seeds
  • 1 tbsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 2 cups vinegar

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Apple chutney

Peel, core, and slice the apples, then bring to a boil with a little water and 500g of sugar. Add the chopped almonds and raisins and cook the apples until smooth. Add the mustard seeds and cayenne pepper and bring back to a boil. Boil the vinegar with salt and the remaining sugar until syrupy. Add the vinegar, mix, and pour the chutney into prepared jars while still hot.
