Spicy mashed potatoes

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 4 servings of potatoes
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 3 grains of allspice
  • Milk / Cream
  • Salt
  • pepper
  • butter

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Peel the potatoes and cut into small cubes. Place them in a pot, season with salt, add the bay leaf and allspice berries, fill with water, and bring to a boil. Check the potato cubes occasionally. When the cubes are tender, drain the cooking water thoroughly and pick out and discard the bay leaf and allspice berries. Blend the potato cubes in a blender until smooth, then add milk (or cream for a richer flavor). Add a little butter for flavor. If desired, add salt and pepper to taste…done! Perfect with bratwurst.
