Spicy peanut sauce Thai style

Spread the love

Ingredients for 3 servings:

  • 1 tbsp sugar, if possible brown sugar
  • 200 g peanut butter
  • 1 tbsp curry paste (Thai), red, spiciness to taste
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce, or 2 tbsp
  • n. B. water

Instructions

Working time approx. 3 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 13 minutes

Goes well with rice with vegetables, meat or tofu

In a small saucepan, place the sugar in one bowl, the curry in another, and the peanut butter in a third. Heat until the sugar begins to caramelize, then quickly add the soy sauce and a little water and stir. Add a little more water at a time until the desired consistency is reached. Season with soy sauce and/or curry paste, if desired. Tastes great with spicy fried chicken or tofu and broccoli—we serve it with unsalted basmati rice.
