Spicy pear in puff pastry

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 2 pears, halved
  • 4 slices of puff pastry
  • 100g Gorgonzola
  • 4 tsp cranberries, from the jar
  • 1 egg yolk

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Preheat the oven to 175°C. Halve the pears, peel them, and carefully remove the cores. Fill each hollowed-out pear half with about 25g of Gorgonzola soft cheese, or more if desired. Place the pear half, curved side up, on a piece of puff pastry and gently press the dough around the pear to form a small rim. Brush with beaten egg yolk and bake in the oven for about 20-25 minutes. Before serving, sprinkle 1 teaspoon of cranberries on each pear half.
