Spicy pepper jam

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 600 g red bell pepper(s)
  • 40 g apple
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp cayenne pepper
  • 30 ml balsamic vinegar, white
  • 320 g gelling sugar 2:1

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 6 minutes; Total time approx. 31 minutes

with steak, cheese or simply on a roll

Wash and dice the bell peppers. Purée with the balsamic vinegar using a hand blender or a food processor with a blender function. Place everything in a saucepan, add salt, sugar, and cayenne pepper, bring to a boil, and simmer gently for 5-6 minutes. If you’re not sure how spicy you want it, start with less cayenne pepper and work your way up. Pour into boiled jam jars and let cool. I like to eat this jam on a roll or with roasted chicken breast, but it also goes great on bread with sausage, cheese, or turkey. This amount makes about 800 ml.
