Ingredients for 6 servings:
- 2 pts. puff pastry
- 4 tbsp tomato ketchup
- Garlic granules
- 100 g sausage (Lyoner or salami), sliced
- 1 small onion(s), thinly sliced
- 150 g cheese, grated
- 1 small egg(s)
- 1 tomato(s), thinly sliced
- 1 tbsp poppy seeds
- 1 tbsp sesame seeds
- 2 tbsp tomato ketchup
- 2 eggs
- 1 tbsp oil
- 1 large onion(s)
- 150 g mushrooms
- 100 g cheese, grated
- salt and pepper
- Caraway powder
Instructions
Working time approx. 40 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour
Roll out the puff pastry. Cheese and sausage strudel: Brush the puff pastry with ketchup and season with garlic. Place the sausage, tomatoes, onions, and 100g of cheese in the center of the pastry. Cover the topping with the remaining edges. The edges overlap. Brush the strudel with half of the beaten egg and sprinkle with the remaining cheese, poppy seeds, and sesame seeds. Egg and mushroom strudel: Cut the onion into thin rings and the mushrooms into thin slices. Sauté both in oil, add the 2 eggs, mix, and let set slightly. Season generously with salt, pepper, and caraway seeds. Let cool slightly. Brush the puff pastry with ketchup. Spread the egg and mushroom mixture in the center of the pastry, sprinkle with 50g of cheese, and cover with the remaining edges. The edges overlap. Brush the strudel with the remaining egg and sprinkle with 50g of cheese and caraway seeds. Bake both strudels in a preheated oven at 180°C for 15-20 minutes.
