Diet / food combining dish
Wash the spinach, cut into bite-sized pieces, and drain well or dry on kitchen paper. Wash the bell pepper, remove the core, and dice. Peel and slice the carrot. Peel the onions and garlic, and finely dice them. Melt the butter in a saucepan and sauté the onions and garlic. Add the carrots, then the bell peppers, and finally the spinach. Cover and cook for about 10 minutes, until the spinach has shrunk slightly. Season with salt and pepper. Stir everything together, spread the gyro strips over the top, sprinkle with the oregano and chili, and pour on the dash of cream. Cover. Place the lid in a preheated oven at 200°C for 20 minutes, then remove the lid and leave in the oven for another 10 minutes. Now it’s ready to serve. I seasoned the pork strips gyro-style. If you’re not following a food combining diet, you can of course serve it with rice, potatoes, or pasta; then the portion is enough for 4 people.
