Sponge cake with applesauce: You need these ingredients
Refined with applesauce, this sponge cake is a great modification of the classic. You probably already have most of the ingredients at home:
- 200 grams of softened butter
- 150 grams of sugar
- 3 eggs
- A pinch of salt
- 1 packet of vanilla sugar
- 375 grams of flour
- 1 packet of baking powder
- 125 milliliters of milk
- 200 grams of applesauce
- Some powdered sugar to sprinkle on top
Sponge cake with applesauce: how to prepare it
For the preparation, you need a hand mixer and a Gugelhupf or other baking pan.
- Preheat your oven to 180 degrees.
- First, cream the butter with salt, sugar, and vanilla sugar. Add the eggs one at a time.
- Then mix the flour with the baking powder and stir it into the butter mixture alternately with the milk. Finally, stir the apple sauce into the batter.
- Pour the batter into the pre-greased baking pan and bake for about 50 minutes, depending on the type of oven.
- Allow your cake to cool for about 10 minutes before turning out. Sprinkle with a little powdered sugar before serving.
