Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 2 Bismarck herring(s)
  • 2 tbsp, heaped sour cream
  • 2 tbsp, heaped mayonnaise
  • 2 small gherkins, e.g. Spreewald style
  • 2 small onions
  • 2 tbsp capers
  • 1 dashes lemon juice
  • 3 tbsp linseed oil
  • salt and pepper
  • Sugar
  • some parsley, freshly chopped

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Rest time approx. 12 hours; Total time approx. 12 hours 15 minutes

Cut the gherkins into small cubes and the onions into thin strips. Mix with sour cream and mayonnaise. Stir in the lemon juice and linseed oil and season with salt, pepper, and sugar. Add the capers. Arrange the fish fillets in an oblong dish and cover with the sauce. Cover and let marinate in the refrigerator until at least the next day. Arrange on plates. Sprinkle with parsley and drizzle with a few more drops of linseed oil. Serve with boiled potatoes.
