Steamed dumplings with baking powder

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 350 g flour
  • 25 g sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1 tbsp vanilla sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 125 ml milk
  • 20 g butter, for the pot

Always succeed

Put the flour mixed with baking powder into a bowl. Make a well in the center and add the salt, sugar, vanilla sugar, and eggs. Starting in the center, mix the ingredients with the milk, making sure there are no lumps. Grease a saucepan with fat and fill with milk to a height of about 1 cm. Bring the milk to a boil and use a tablespoon to make 8 equal-sized heaps. Place a tightly fitting lid on the pan. Simmer over low heat until tender, about 20 minutes. Do not remove the lid beforehand, or the noodles will collapse. Serve with vanilla sauce or browned butter. If there are any leftovers, slice the steamed dumplings and fry them in hot butter.
