Stewed Garlic Tomatoes

The perfect stewed garlic tomatoes recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 12 Pc. Tomatoes
  • 6 Pc. Garlic cloves
  • 50 ml Olive oil
  • Oregano, fresh basil, salt, pepper from the mill, sugar, cayenne pepper
  • Some branches of sage
  1. Wash tomatoes – Cut out the stem and halve. 2. Place the olive oil in a large baking dish and the tomatoes with the cut side facing down. 3. Peel the garlic, cut into slices and add to the tomatoes 4. Sort the herbs, wash and drain them well and add them. 5. Season the whole thing with salt, pepper, sugar and cayenne pepper. 6. Let the baking dish stew in the oven preheated to 180 degrees. When the cooking time is over, arrange the tomatoes decoratively and garnish with the herb sprigs. I serve with white bread roasted in olive oil. Also delicious as an accompaniment to meat.
  2. Let the tomatoes stew for 15-20 minutes
