Dessert – good use of leftovers
Cut or tear the bread into cubes. Cut or chop the chocolate into small cubes. Whisk the eggs, mix well with the milk and sugar. Pour everything onto the bread cubes, knead and let stand for about 15 minutes. In the meantime, preheat the oven to 200°C and line a 20 x 30 cm baking pan with baking paper. Add the chocolate cubes to the bread mixture and mix well. Spread the mixture evenly into the pan, scatter flakes of butter on top and bake in the oven for about 30 – 40 minutes. Wait a few minutes before cutting. Tastes delicious hot or cold. Note: Adjust the amount of milk depending on how dry the bread is. It is better to use a little less milk beforehand if the bread is not very dry.
