Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • flavoring of your choice or spices
  • 4 slices of white bread or brioche
  • Fat for the mold

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

low-fat version of French toast

Whisk the eggs, sugar, milk, and vanilla sugar well with a fork. This is the basic mixture; you can now add any flavorings or spices (or anything else you like) and stir them in. Roll the bread in this mixture, let it sit for a few minutes, and then place it in a greased, small, covered baking dish. If there’s any leftover mixture, you can pour it over the bread. Close the lid (or cover the dish with aluminum foil) and bake the whole thing at 200°C (fan oven) for about 15 minutes, making sure the egg sets evenly. Serve while still warm.
