Ingredients
For the dough:
- 2 Eggs
- 75 g Sugar
- 1 packet Vanilla sugar
- 100 g Flour
- 30 g Ground almonds or hazelnuts
- 2 tbsp Warm water
- 1 pinch Baking powder
For covering:
- 200 g Sour cream
- 1 packet Vanilla sauce powder to mix cold
- 200 g Yogurt
- 2 tbsp Strawberry jam
- 2 tbsp Amaretto
- 600 g Strawberries
- 1 packet Red frosting, sugar and water according to the packet instructions
Instructions
- Separate eggs. Beat the egg white until stiff, gradually pouring in 25 g of sugar. In another bowl, stir the egg yolks with water, 50 g sugar and vanilla sugar until frothy. Fold half of the egg whites into the egg yolk mixture. Then carefully fold in the remaining egg whites and the flour mixed with baking powder with the almonds.
- Pour the dough into a springform pan (26 cm) lined with baking paper and bake in a hot oven at 175 degrees for about 10 minutes. Take out and let cool. Then remove from the mold. Place a cake ring around the base. Brush the bottom with amaretto, then brush with the strawberry jam.
- Mix the sour cream and yoghurt with the sauce powder for the topping. Spread it on the floor. Cut the strawberries into slices and spread them onto the cake like a roof tile. Prepare the icing according to the instructions on the packet and cover the cake with it.
