Strawberry compote à la Gabi

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1,000 g strawberries
  • 4 packets of vanilla sugar
  • 500 ml apple juice
  • 4 tbsp lemon juice
  • 4 tbsp cornstarch
  • 200 ml water

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Rest time approx. 2 hours; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 2 hours 25 minutes

Cut the strawberries into small pieces and bring to a boil with the vanilla sugar, apple juice, and lemon juice. Bring to a boil again briefly with the cornstarch mixed with water, stirring continuously. Transfer the strawberry compote to a bowl and let it cool in the refrigerator for about 2 hours.
