Strawberry jam with vanilla and caramel

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 kg strawberries
  • 500 g gelling sugar, 2:1
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 3 packets of vanilla sugar (caramel/vanilla sugar, found in the spices section)

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Peel the strawberries, wash them, chop them, and bring them to a boil with the gelling sugar and caramel/vanilla sugar, stirring. Finally, add the lemon juice. Transfer to preserving jars, and you’re done. I always use the 3:1 or 2:1 gelling sugar because the caramel/vanilla sugar adds a little sweetness!
