Ingredients for 3 servings:
- 1 kg beans (green beans)
- 2 large onions
- 2 large tomatoes, or 4 small ones
- 5 tbsp olive oil
- ½ cup boiling water
- 2 tsp sugar
- Salt
Instructions
Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 20 minutes
Time-consuming tasks
Wash the green beans, cut them lengthwise, and chop them again. Chop the onions, and grate or finely chop the tomatoes. Now add 5 tablespoons of olive oil to the pot, add the onions, then the green beans, and finally the tomatoes. Add 2 teaspoons of sugar, season with salt, cover, and simmer over low heat for about 20 minutes. Add ½ cup of boiling water and simmer for another 45 minutes. Can be eaten hot or cold.
