Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 200 g rice, approx.
  • 125 g bacon, cut into strips
  • 1 can peas, approx. 400 g
  • 200g halloumi
  • 1 cup of cream, approx. 200 ml
  • 1 cup of crème fraîche or sour cream, approx. 150 – 200 g
  • turmeric
  • salt and pepper
  • nutmeg
  • Olive oil for frying
  • Herbs of Provence
  • chili powder

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes

Cut the halloumi into small cubes. Add the rice, water, salt, and turmeric (for coloring), and cook while stirring. Fry the bacon and halloumi in a little olive oil. Once both have browned, add the peas and then deglaze with the cream and crème fraîche. Season everything with salt, pepper, Provençal herbs, nutmeg, and chili. Bring to a boil, season to taste, and serve with the rice.
