Stuffed ham and cheese roll

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 2 rolls (wholemeal rolls)
  • 200 g ham, cooked
  • 150 g cheese (e.g. Emmental or Gouda)
  • 2 beefsteak tomatoes
  • 2 tbsp crème fraîche
  • 2 tbsp herbs, mixed and finely chopped (e.g. parsley, chives or basil)
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Delicious snack for in between

Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius (gas mark 2-3). Halve the wholemeal rolls, scoop out the soft insides with a spoon, and place them in a bowl. Cut the ham into strips, then into small cubes. Also dice the cheese. Wash the tomatoes and remove the stems. Halve the tomatoes crosswise and scoop out the seeds with a spoon. Also dice the tomato flesh. Add the ham, cheese, and tomato cubes, crème fraîche, and herbs to the bread mixture in the bowl and mix everything together well. Season with salt and pepper. Fill the mixture into the roll halves. Place the roll halves on a baking tray, place in the hot oven, and bake for about 10 minutes.
