Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g minced meat, mixed (pork, beef)
  • 2 eggs
  • 125 g quark (low-fat curds)
  • 1 onion(s)
  • 150 g root vegetables (carrots, celery, parsley)
  • 2 cucumber(s) (pickles)
  • 2 tbsp oil (e.g. sunflower oil)
  • marjoram
  • Thyme
  • salt and pepper
  • Garlic
  • Parsley, chopped

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Wash, trim, and finely tear the root vegetables into strips, then roast briefly in a pan, stirring constantly. Combine the minced meat with the eggs, curd cheese, chopped onion, and root vegetables, and season with the spices. Cut the pickled gherkins into strips. With wet hands, form half of the meat mixture into a roast, flatten it, and place it in a greased casserole dish. Distribute the pickled gherkins on top and cover with the remaining meat mixture. Preheat the oven to 160°C (320°F) and roast uncovered for 30 minutes, then covered for another 20 minutes.
