Stuffed tomatoes

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 8 m.-large tomato(s), firm
  • 1 baguette(s), dry
  • 100 ml milk
  • 1 onion(s)
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 40 g butter
  • 400 g minced pork
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 2 tbsp parsley, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp thyme, shredded
  • Salt
  • black pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

Wash the tomatoes and pat dry. Cut off one of the tops and carefully remove the seeds with a spoon. Lightly salt the inside. Crumble the dry baguette and soak it in the milk. Peel and chop the onion, and sauté it with the garlic in a little butter. Add it to the soaked baguette. Preheat the oven to 180°C. Add the minced meat, egg, parsley, and thyme and mix well. Fill the tomatoes with the mixture. Grease an ovenproof dish with butter. Place a knob of butter on each tomato and place the previously cut-off tops on top. Bake the stuffed tomatoes in the oven for about 45 minutes and serve hot.
