Stuffed tomatoes

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 8 large tomatoes
  • 500 g cream cheese
  • 250 g pine nuts
  • ½ bunch mixed herbs
  • 100 g ham, raw lean
  • 100 g cheese, grated (Gouda or Edam)
  • Salt and pepper, from the mill

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Side dish or starter

Wash and finely chop the herbs. Finely dice the ham. Roughly chop the pine nuts and toast them in a dry pan. Mix the cream cheese with the ham, herbs, and pine nuts and season with salt and pepper. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Wash the tomatoes and cut out the stems with a sharp knife. Scrape out the insides of the tomatoes with a spoon. Fill the tomatoes with the cream cheese mixture. Place the tomatoes on a baking sheet lined with baking paper and sprinkle with the grated cheese. Bake for about 10 minutes. Serve as a starter with white bread, but it also goes very well as a side dish with meat dishes.
