Styrian Sauerkraut with Bacon
The perfect styrian sauerkraut with bacon recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 1 kg Sauerkraut
- 2 piece Onion
- 20 Decagram Diced Bacon
- 0,25 liter White wine
- Leftover gravy from roast pork
- 2 piece Bay leaves
- 5 piece Juniper berries
- 2 tablespoon Sugar
- Peel the onion and chop it with the bacon cubes. Add the sauerkraut. Briefly toast the sugar, add bay leaves and juniper berries. Deglaze with white wine. Now season with salt and pepper to taste. Stir the lid on it every now and then and let it simmer until it is nice and soft.
- Have cooked it again on reserve and frozen after cooling
