Sunken Apple Pie with Difference!

The perfect sunken apple pie with difference! recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 800 g Sour apples
  • 2 tbsp Lime juice
  • 1 tbsp Powdered sugar
  • 80 g Fresh walnut, roughly chopped
  • 200 g Rama with buttermilk
  • 150 g Muscovado sugar or simply brown / white 🙂
  • 4 Eggs
  • 4 tbsp Liquor 49
  • 1 few turns Ground vanilla pod
  • 200 g Spelled flour
  • 1 tsp Baking powder
  • Square baking frame
  • Parchment paper
  • Oil for the mold
  • Powdered sugar
  1. Wash the apples, peel, quarter, remove the core and cut into a fan-shaped cut. Add lime juice in a bowl and wet everything well!
  2. Melt powdered sugar without fat in a pan and caramelize walnuts in it.

Pre heat the oven to 180 degrees celcius!

  1. Beat the rama and sugar until frothy. Add eggs one by one and mix with the liqueur. Mix the vanilla sugar, flour and baking powder and stir in as well. Oil the baking pan and add the dough.
  2. Press in the apple wedges and sprinkle with walnut caramel! Bake in the oven for about 45 minutes
  3. After cooling, sprinkle with powdered sugar!
  4. WHEN USING WHITE SUGAR THE CAKE BECOMES LIGHTER!
