Since mashed potato powder is available in varying quantities, I prefer to describe the recipe in proportions rather than in exact measurements. Cut the salmon into strips. Bring 1 1/2 times the amount of water specified on the package for making the puree to a boil. Melt 30 to 50 g of butter in it. Remove the water from the heat as soon as it boils. Cool with 1 1/2 times the amount of milk specified on the package. Stir in the mashed potato powder and let it swell briefly. If the consistency isn’t quite runny enough, you can carefully add more water or milk. Then stir in the salmon strips. Season with broth, salt, and pepper. Let it simmer for 5 minutes to allow the salmon to cook. This is the basic recipe for absolute emergencies when you really need to do something quickly. You can also expand the recipe with sour cream, cress, and/or toasted bread cubes.
