Ingredients for 2 servings:
- 1 liter of milk
- 125 g rice (short grain rice)
- 100 g sugar
- 2 tbsp vanilla sugar
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 egg(s)
- 100 ml milk, approx.
- Cinnamon powder for sprinkling
Instructions
Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 50 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour
Mix all ingredients except the rice and the 100 ml milk thoroughly, then add the rice. Cook for about 20-30 minutes, by which time the rice should be relatively soft; simmer a little longer if necessary. Now add the 100 ml milk and stir. Transfer the rice to a baking dish and bake on the top rack of the oven at 220°C (fan oven) for about 20 minutes. The surface of the rice will be quite dark and mottled. Serve sprinkled with cinnamon. If you like, you can also add fruit to the rice (e.g., apples, cherries, peaches).
