Sweet and sour okra

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 400 g okra, fresh
  • 1 lemon(s), juice of
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • salt and pepper
  • olive oil

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 10 minutes

Wash the okra, pat dry, drizzle with lemon juice, and marinate for about 5 minutes. Carefully remove the pods, drain slightly, and fry in olive oil for about 5 minutes, turning gently. Add sugar, toss the okra, and deglaze with the lemon juice in which the okra was marinated. Season with salt and pepper, add a little water, and cook over low heat for about 5 minutes, turning occasionally. Okra is delicious hot as a side dish to poultry or lamb dishes, but also lukewarm as an appetizer or finger food.
