Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

sweet quark rolls with rock candy, makes 8 rolls

In a bowl, whisk the quark, lemon and vanilla flavoring, milk, oil, rum, salt, sugar, and vanilla sugar until vigorous. Mix the flour with the baking powder, add to the quark mixture, and mix thoroughly, preferably by hand. Knead the dough thoroughly, roll into a sausage, and divide into 8 pieces. If it’s too sticky, simply add a little more flour. Now add the rock candy and then shape the dough into rolls. Mix the egg yolk with the powdered sugar, add half the bottle of vanilla flavoring, and spread it over the rolls. Bake the rolls at 175°C for about 20 minutes. Instead of the rock candy pieces, you can also knead chocolate chips into the dough.
