Sweet pastries with honey

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g wheat flour
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • some ouzo or raki
  • 1 jar soda water
  • some salt
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • Honey, for spreading

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Pita from Crete

Combine the flour with all the ingredients and knead thoroughly. Form the dough into about 10 balls and flatten them (about 12 cm in diameter). Heat olive oil in a pan and fry the pitas until golden brown on both sides. Immediately brush with honey. Stack the pitas on top and serve.
